Parar penaltis: que funciona de verdad desde los once metros
El lanzamiento favorece al ejecutor por diseno. El trabajo del portero es mover las probabilidades en los margenes.

A well-struck penalty into the corner cannot be saved by reaction alone. The distance is twelve yards, the flight time is under half a second, and the goal is 7.32 metres wide. Baseline conversion rates in senior football sit comfortably above 70%.
Delay is the main weapon
Diving early converts the kick into a guessing game the taker wins. Goalkeepers with strong records tend to stay upright longer, forcing the taker either to commit to a placed shot chosen in advance or to look up and hesitate.
Reading the run-up
The cues are small and inconsistent, but they exist: the angle of approach, the plant-foot direction at the last stride, hip rotation, and whether the taker's eyes go to the ball early. None is reliable in isolation.
The line, legally
The laws require part of one foot to be on or in line with the goal line at the moment of the kick. Everything else is available. Encroaching costs a retake, so discipline matters as much as athleticism.
Why records vary so much
Penalty samples are small. A career total of forty kicks faced is a handful of afternoons. A save rate well above the norm across such a sample is a genuine signal of specialisation, but it should be read together with the technique behind it.
