The Guardian reported that Miklosko had been suffering from cancer prior to his death.
Career in London
Miklosko arrived in English football in 1990, joining West Ham United from Baník Ostrava for a fee of £300,000 following a successful trial. He went on to make 373 appearances for the London club across the decade, helping them secure promotion during his tenure.
Nicknamed 'Big Ludo', the goalkeeper established himself as a popular figure among the West Ham supporters, who continued to celebrate his contributions long after his departure. He subsequently moved to Queens Park Rangers later in his playing career.

At international level, Miklosko earned 42 caps beginning in 1982. He represented both Czechoslovakia and later Czechia following the political division of the country.
